Protection Film (EBG250 PET)
A high-clarity, hard-coated polyester (PET) film used as the top protective/overlay layer:
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Base material | PET (polyester film) |
| Surface finish | Glossy, single-side hard coating |
| Standard thickness | 250 µm |
| Optical transmittance | ≥ 90% |
| Surface hardness | 2H (pencil hardness) |
| Chemical resistance | Resistant to a wide range of chemical agents |
| Mechanical properties | High flexibility, fold/crack resistant, suitable for embossing/forming |
Typical use: overlay for membrane switches, touch display fronts, control panels, and nameplates.
3. Cleaning & Care Recommendations
- Only use isopropyl alcohol (IPA) with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dirt, fingerprints, or smudges from the touch surface.
- Do not use any solvent other than alcohol (no acetone, thinners, ketones, or general household cleaners) – these can damage the coating or adhesive layers.
- Apply alcohol sparingly: avoid letting liquid seep into the seam between the film and the glass, as this can weaken the adhesive bond and cause delamination or malfunction.
- Never allow the panel to contact water, organic solvents, acids, or sulfuric compounds.
- Wear clean gloves/finger cots when handling panels to avoid fingerprints and, on Film+Glass types, to protect against the unpolished glass edges.
- Store panels away from direct sunlight, heat, and pressure; keep original packaging intact until installation.
- If an additional protective film is added, note that this may alter the panel’s original optical or operating performance – this effect is not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
