How Can We Help?
USB-Modbus to Modbus-TCP Gateway Performance
Below are 5 videos on reading speeds with the ACE PLC and the ACE-GTW-MB Modbus gateway.
For testing, we run a timer in ms in the ACE PLC, then read it directly via USB or via TCP through the gateway.
You can download the videos, and run them slowly to check the time (value of the timer read) between 2 Modbus readings.
For know the polling time, you need to see 2 successive values, for example, 4102 and 4132, this means that we can read every 30 ms.
Directly via USB
- ACE PLC connected to the PC via USB. We read the timer with Modbus Doctor software at 9600 bds (Matser Modbus)
- ACE PLC connected to the PC via USB. We read the timer with Modbus Doctor software at 115200 bds (Master Modbus)
Via the ACE-GTW-MB Gateway
- ACE PLC connected to the ACE-GTW Gateway itself connect to the PC via Ethernet. We read the timer with Modbus Doctor software (Master Modbus)
- ACE PLC connected to the ACE-GTW Gateway itself connect to the PC via Ethernet. We read the timer with Modbus Doctor software (Master Modbus)
- In this case, we modify the default gateway baud rate from 9600 to 115200 and the pause between request from 100 to 1 ms
- Here, if we look at 2 successive values, for example, 4102 and 4132, this means that we can read every 30 ms.
