How to set up the connection
On the PC remote maintenance side : Automation Engineer / Maintenance Operator / Machine Builder
On the PC you wish to use for remote maintenance:
- Close the vBuilder and HMI-Tool softwares
- Download this Windows software:
- VirtualHere Client for Windows (32-bit, Win7/Server2008R2 or later)
- VirtualHere Client for Windows (64-Bit Win7/Server2008R2 or later)
- Start the program VirtualHere USB Client.
- Right click on [USB Servers] then go to [Specify USB Server] > [Advanced] Tab and check “Enable Reverse Connections”
- In your office ADSL router, the one you use for your office internet access, forward port 7573 from Internet to your PC. In some cases, it may be necessary to reboot the router
- Note your Public IP addresse (see https://whatismyip.org/). You will need it for the ACE PLC / CommandHMI side.
It’s done! That’s all! We just have to wait the connection from the ACE PLC or CommandHMIs side
On the ACE PLCs and CommandHMIs side : Remote customer / Close to the ACE PLC or HMI
You need:
Android Phone + Micro-USB

USB to Mini USB cable or USB to USB A cable |
Your Incredible ACE PLC
and / or Your Affordable CommandHMI |
On your Androïd Smartphone, install the VirtualHere USB Server application available on Google Play for Android
- Start the program
- In the menu [ ⁝ ], select [Reverse Clients] then [Add] a new Client hostname or IP address
- This IP address is the Public IP addess of the Internet access (ADSL) on the remote maintenance PC side
- In generally, the remote side (end-user) must ask this IP address to the maintenance operator (machine builder)
- Leave the default port number (7573) or ask the maintenance operator if it’s different.
- So you must have something like XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:7573 where XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX is the Internet ADSL Public IP addess
It’s done! That’s all! We just have to wait the connection of the engineer service / machine builder. (Remote maintenance PC side)!
Let’s connect!
- Here, we are connected to the USB port of the Android Smartphone, but not to the ACE PLC or CommandHMI
- Double-click on the “Virtual COM Port” to be connected to the ACE PLC or CommandHMI
- Or you can select Auto-Use All Devices for be connected automatically on each USB port
- Then launch vBuilder and you can work as you were directly connected to your ACE PLC!

- You can switch to other applications on your smartphone, it will always work
